Dr. Charles McNeill Simmons

Dr. Charles McNeill Simmons was Charles J.A. Simmons and Libby's son and was born March 5, 1911. He was educated in Laurel and New Richmond schools, then graduated from University of Cincinnati with a B.A. and then went on to earn his M.D. in 1943. Unable to serve in WWII due to his health, he opened a fully equipped modern medical facility in Bethel, Ohio, which was very rural at that time. Dr. Simmons son, Kim David McNeill Simmons, still lives in Laurel (as of 2026) on original Simmons land. Kim has helped me with some of the information on this site, as I have been in contact with him over the years.
