Ruth as a child
Ruth was born in Laurel, Ohio to Moreton and Bertha McNeill in 1906.
At some point, Ruth left the family farms and married a man named Robert M. Hendrixson and lived in Knoxville, Tennessee. While in Knoxville, sister Dorothy came to briefly live with her and her husband. Eventually, Ruth and Robert moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where their daughter, Madeleine, was born July 13, 1938.

Ruth converted to the religion of Christian Science (the McNeills’ and Simmons’ were Methodists), whose followers believe in a spiritual holistic healing for disease rather than modern medicine. I don’t know what Ruth passed away from, but I was told that the condition could have been treated with modern medicine at the time of her death, April 8th, 1976.
Ruth (and husband) are interred at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ohio.
