“Irwin, Madeleine (Mitzi) Sue Hendrixson Ann Arbor, MI

The Ann Arbor Community will miss Mitzi Irwin for her enthusiastic community involvement, most specifically St. Joseph Mercy Hospital which benefited from her support, leadership and fund-raising efforts, especially in chairing the 1983 St. Joe Ball. Mitzi passed on Sunday August 31st at Arbor Hospice. Friends and Family are grateful for their attentive care and that of the oncology unit at St. Joe Hospital. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Samuel N. Irwin. Mitzi is survived by her loving and caring daughter-in-law Janine Irwin Webb and grandchildren David and Andrew of Truckee California, who brought her immense joy and happiness. Mitzi will be greatly missed by her special and attentive friend Robert Bassett, her many Ann Arbor friends, her follow alums of Hillside College who supplied her with a lifetime of hilarious stories and former colleagues and professional staff from her days at the J.L. Hudson Company, who have remained loyal, close and supportive to the end. Mitzi was born Madeleine Sue Hendrixson on July 13th, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the daughter of Ruth McNeill and Robert M. Hendrixson now deceased. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is planned for Saturday September 20 at 2p.m. at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Chapel.
